Zhou Guoqing, Professor, doctorial supervisor and member of Chinese Communist Party of China, was born in Yangzhou city in October 1961. He started to work in August 1982 and joined the Communist Party of China in October, 1984. In December 1996, he required D.E.(doctor of engineeringof CUMT. In January, 2000, he was assigned as president of the School ofArchitecture and  Engineering of CUMT. In November, 2007, he has been serving as Associate dean of the State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering and director of Discipline Development Office. He was promoted as assistant to the President in April 2012. He is currently serving as vice president and member of standing party committee of CUMT.

Professor Zhou Guoqing has long been engaged in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. He chaired and participated in the sub-projects of "973 program" (National Basic Research Program) and over 30 projects of The National Natural Science Foundation of China. He won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, National Coal Industry Science and Technology Progress Award and over 10 awards in scientific research. He has 11 monographs and academic paper searched by SCI and 42 monographs by EI. Meanwhile, he has won 30 National Invention Patents. He also compiled Geomechanics and Geoengineering, Journal of China University of Mining and Technology and College Journal of CUMT.


Professor Zhou Guoqing takes over of undergraduate education and recruitment of students. He is also responsible for adult continuing education, campus informatization management and construction, international cooperation and exchange. He is in charge of Teaching Affairs Office, International office, Institute of Higher Education Research, Sun Yueqi Honors College, International College, Public Education Service Center. He jointly conducts the work of student management of foreign affairs. Contact School of Mechanics & Civil Engineering and College of Applied Science and Technology.
