Doctor Qin Yong, born in June 1957, is a professor and doctoral supervisor, who enjoys the special allowance by the State Department.He obtained hisBachelor’s Degree in 1981 and his Master’s Degree of Coal Geology & Exploration in 1987 from China Institute of Mining and Technology, and his PhD of Mineral Resource Prospecting and Exploration from China University of Mining and Technology in1992. Since August 2007, he has served as Vice President of CUMT.
Professor Qin Yong is the academic leader of national key disciplineMineral Resource Prospecting and Exploration and first-class discipline of Geology. He has long been engaged in the teaching and research of coal geology, coal bed gas geology, energy geochemistry. He chaired many National Key Projects, National Basic Research Programs (973 Program), National 863 Project, over 80 key projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, and published over 460 academic papers, among which 50 papers have been collected by SCI, over 200 papers been collected by EI. He has published more than 20 monographs, won 2 second prizes of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and 12 ministerial and provincial-leveltechnology awards including the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Department of Education.
