CAO Dexin, Deputy Party Secretary

Cao Dexin was born in August 1962. He graduated from Mathematics Class for Preparing Teachers of China Institute of Mining and Technology (CIMT) in 1982. He is currently a doctoral supervisor, professor of the department of Mathematics in School of Sciences, the deputy party secretary of CUMT.

Professor Cao has long been engaged in the teaching and research of college mathematics teaching. He has tutored more than 40 MS candidates, published more than 5 textbooks including Computational Method and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. He has also published over 60 academic papers in Research in Higher Education of Engineering as well as other journals. Additionally he has published 60 more papers in Applied Mathematics and Computation, some of which have been collected by SCI, EI and Mathematical Reviews.Professor Cao has long been engaged in the teaching and research of mathematical theory of computation and its application. His research is mainly oriented to interval arithmetic of nonlinear optimization and non-smooth optimization, nonlinear equation and numerical method for differential equation, particle swarm optimization, artificial neural network, wavelet analysis, and the application study of numerical solution of inverse problem for differential equation. He has chaired more than 8 research projects including those supported by National Natural Science Foundation, Coal Science Fund, and Coal Youth Fund.

Professor Cao has been awarded the prize of secondary-class Excellent Course of Jiangsu Province, and the second prize of Excellent Teaching Achievement of Jiangsu Province.
