SONG Xuefeng, President and Deputy Party Secretary

Song Xuefeng was born in Tsingtao, Shandong province, a member of CPC, Doctor of Management, second-grade professor, doctoral supervisor and State Council special allowance expert. He received his B.S. from Nanjing University(NJU)in 1985 and M.S. from Shanghai University in1988. Then, he obtained his D.M. from China University of Mining and Technology(CUMT) in 1995. From 1999 to 2000, he paid a visit to George Mason University as a senior visiting scholar.

Song Xuefeng joined the CUMT faculty in June 1988 and has successively served as the deputy dean of School of Management, director of Graduate School and Degree Office, dean of School of Management. From August 2002 to January 2015, he served as the vice President of CUMT,also the dean of the Graduate School as well as the dean of Sun Yueqi Honors College and other positions concurrently. After that, he was President and deputy Party Secretary of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics till October 2018 when he was appointed as the President and deputy Party secretary of CUMT.

Song Xuefeng’s research interests include Management Science and Engineering, quantitative economics and financial engineering, management of complex system, coal mine safety management. As the principal investigator, he led the academic team to complete over 10 projects, including key programs and general programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China, programs of The National Social Science Fund of China, and programs of talent plan in the new century from Ministry of Education, and published 3 academic monographs (including co-authorship), 3 translated works, 3 edited textbooks and over 100 academic papers. His achievements in teaching and scientific research have won him 1 second prize of National Excellent Teaching Achievements, and 5 prizes of Provincial Progress Prize in Science and Technology.

He has also served as the deputy director of Management Science and Engineering Teaching Steering Committee and Secretive Majors Teaching Committee of the Ministry of Education, standing director of the China’s Management Science and Engineering Society, director of Jiangsu province’s management disciplines Teaching Committee, editorial board member of many academic journals, sucha as “Journal of Management Sciences in China”, “Systems Engineering-Theory Methodology Application”“Journal of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management”.

He has been recognized by the “New Century Outstanding Talent Plan” of Ministry of Education (2005), and as the first cross-century academic leader of Jiangsu province's“Blue Project” (1996) and the second-level academic leader of “Project 333”(2001). Furthermore, he was awarded many honorary titles such as Outstanding Postgraduate Teacher of Jiangsu province (1996), State Council Special Allowance Expert(2000), Young Scientists Nomination of Jiangsu province (2001) and Outstanding Philosophical and Social Science Worker of Jiangsu province (1998 and 2004).
