Power Electronics and Power Drives

The discipline of Power Electronics and Power Drives started in 1950 and was one of the first doctoral programs to award the doctoral degree of mine electrical engineering and automation. In 2001, it was approved to be the national key discipline and ranks the 20th in China now.

 

The discipline has main 5 directions namely high-power electric drive and control, electric machinery control and new energy power generation, mine power supply system and safety, electrical equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, new electric machinery theory and sensing technology. There are 27 professors, 61 associate professors and 1 national teaching team. Among them, Qingquan CHEN (member of Chinese Academy of Engineering) is the dean and 1 professor is the winner of National New Century Talents Project and 3 are the winners of Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China, enjoying the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. 5 were selected by the Object Talent for Jiangsu Province 333 Program. 1 won the title of the Jiangsu Advanced Worker and 1 won the title of Outstanding Post doctor in Jiangsu.

 

In recent 3 years, it has undertaken over 100 projects including more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial projects. It has won 1 second class of State Scientific and Technological Progress and over 20 provincial and ministerial awards, accessed to 24 national invention patents. More than 200 dissertations were concluded in SCI, EI.

Control Theory and Control Engineering

The discipline of Control Theory and Control Engineering was authorized to award doctoral degree in 1998 and was approved to establish the Control Science and Engineering postdoctoral research program in 2000. In 2001, it was approved for the key discipline in Jiangsu Province and ranked 25th in China in the discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education. There are 15 professors, 8 doctoral supervisors and 13 associate professors. Among them, 3 were the winners of Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Universities underdirect leadership of Ministry of Education of China, 1 winner of Jiangsu Province’s high level talents program, 3 winners of Object Talent for Jiangsu Province 333 Program, 2 winner of the Sunyueqi Youth Science & Technology Award and 1 winner of the Coal Science and Technology Award for Youth.

In recent 3 years, it has undertaken 25 projects including projects of National 973 Program (the National Basic Research Program of China) and their subprojects, 863 programs (the National High Technology Research and Development Program) and Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). It has won 1 state-level scientific research award and 15 provincial and ministerial awards, obtained more than 10 invention patents and published 10 monographs. More than 100 academic papers were included in SCI or EI.
