A Study on Water-inrush Mechanism and the Basic Theories of Its Prevention and Treatment in Coal Mine

Brief Introduction of the Project:
Aimed at controlling large and super-large mine water-inrush accidents, this project carries out researches on three scientific problems: formation conditions of mine water-inrush, mining-induced fractures evolution rules and seepage mutation rules, and basic theories and methods of predicting and controlling mine water-inrush, in the light of main characters of mine water-inrush in current coal mining in China.
In terms of theoretical studies, this project reveals the main medium types that greatly influence the mine water disasters in our country, the distribution laws of water-bearing structures, the formation conditions and mechanism of water-inrush. Moreover, this project further studies structure damages of rock mass under mining and mining-induced fractures evolution rules and seepage mutation rules, makes unique numerical simulation software of seepage rules of rock masses and mechanism of water-inrush in mines, develops “expert system for evaluating water-inrush risks of seam floors”, establishes prediction model for predicting volumes of water-inrush in the mine water-inrush mode and real-time monitoring and forecasting model and monitoring system for mine water-inrush based on multi-parameter fusions, and realizes unification of preventing and curbing mine water damage and protecting and using water resources effectively.
In terms of talent training, this project has formed an enterprising, lively and aggressive scientific research team which is headed by chief scientist Professor Miao Xiexing, and the team is influential internationally; in terms of constructing research and practice bases, this project has distinctive features and reflects the purpose that fundamental theoretical researches shall satisfy production needs and national significant needs.
